Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I want to congratulate you on taking the first step towards making a meaningful and important change in your life. Asking for help and wanting to make a change in your life is not easy and takes a lot of courage. Often we do not have the right coping skills to manage our emotions and relationships, causing life to get complicated. Whether it's a new or recurrent problem, if you feel anxious, overwhelmed, depressed or experiencing relationship problems, I am here for you. I offer psychotherapy for individuals, couples and adolescents. I offer evidence and research based therapy as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I also do trauma work and use eclectic theories that are tailored to my clients' needs.I believe that my clients understand their problems better than anyone and that assumption is key to my process.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
