Personal Statement:
Susan is a licensed Marriage Family Therapist and Certified Gestalt Therapist. She provides individual and group therapy in her work with adults, adolescents and their families. Susan offers clients an environment to learn about their emotional process and how that impacts relationships. She focuses on concerns related to individual growth and healthier family functioning. Susan approaches therapy with an emphasis on how one's emotional, physical and spiritual awareness can lead to more satisfying choices in living. Susan has specialized training for integrating body awareness to heal trauma and treat anxiety and depression. She specializes in addressing the concerns of gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender individuals. Susan is also an adjunct faculty member at Pepperdine University, teaching graduate classes on Interpersonal Skills and Group Therapy. As a clinical supervisor, she provides training in the areas of group process, gestalt therapy and trauma treatment. Complimenting her experience, Susan has recently completed training for certification in Somatic Experiencing, a method for healing trauma.
