Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
People seek the assistance of a psychotherapist for many reasons. Sometimes, they are not certain what that reason actually might be; they are simply aware of a vague sense of dissatisfaction in their lives. Other times, they are quite certain what the issue(s)are that they would like to address. I will assist you -- first, in clarifying, and then, addressing the areas in your life for which you are seeking assistance. After you and I have illuminated your reasons for seeking therapy, we will proceed to identify the path that is most likely to result in a successful outcome. I have a toolbox full of tools, and a perspective to share that I've gained over the past 20 years. I look forward to entering into a productive collaboration with you.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
