Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My belief is that we all have the capacity to grow, make positive change, and heal no matter what challenges we face. If you feel stressed-out, overwhelmed, unhappy, unfulfilled, depressed, anxious, misunderstood or isolated and do not know how to find solutions on your own, I can help. Together, we can find solutions which include learning how to ask for what you want by communicating honestly, increasing personal awareness, choosing self-acceptance and making choices to create a life that feels more congruent. I specialize in working with adults and couples who are facing challenges that can no longer be dealt with at home. I focus on relationship difficulties (couples, family, career), infidelity/affair, depression, life's challenging transitions, emotional overeating, out-of-balance lifestyle, stress and overwhelm, empty-nest, loss and grief. I am a licensed therapist practicing since 1997. I am a Professor at Pepperdine University's Graduate School of Psychology.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
