Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I offer individual, couples and family therapy covering a broad range of issues presented by the client. My experience of working in community mental health, private practice, non-profit agencies, and programs contracted with Department of Mental Health, has given me the ability to be culturally sensitive and use various therapeutic approaches tailored to the client’s needs.

I believe that therapy is a journey on which the client and therapist embark together to promote personal growth and awareness. Thus, my approach is collaborative, supportive, compassionate, client centered, and strength based. In addition, I am fluent in Russian and welcome Russian speaking client.

I use a variety of techniques from many different therapeutic approaches, which gives clients the tools that they need to challenge cognitions, explore and understand core beliefs, as well as gain awareness into choices that open up possibilities in their personal life and relationships.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
