Personal Statement:
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed since 2003, I work with individuals,couples and families from a client specific strength based perspective to build and maintain healthy relationships; heal past hurts; improve communication; and develop character through self acceptance and initiating responsible action. During the past twenty years, I have worked extensively with individuals, youth and families, first as a volunteer and then as an MFT intern,leading to licensure in 2003. 2001 through 2011, I provided clinical services to youth and families through Humboldt County Mental Health, Department of Health and Human Services. I have been an active therapist and staff member at Redwood Family Institute since 2005. That website can be accessed at redwoodfamilyinstitute.org. My areas of interest include: Working with couples to resolve Marital Discord, Divorce Recovery, Blended Families, Grief and Loss Issues, Depression and Anxiety. I also work with individuals who are recovering from Substance Abuse, Relational Abuse, and Various Forms of Trauma. I also provide perspective on spiritual issues as desired.
