Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
When we experience life challenges, there may be those times when we feel stuck, alone & don't know how to cope with it! It's understandable that when making the decision to seek professional help for our personal issues it may feel strange or like unfamiliar territory at times, but it can also be effective when an individual is open and ready to take that first step towards self-care!

My areas of specialty consists of work with Victim of Crime clients who suffer from severe trauma(rape/assault,sexual/physical abuse/domestic violence). Also, I provide counseling services to adults, children and families who suffer from grief/loss issues, divorce/separation, anxiety and depression. Donna J. Shanahan, MA

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Pasadena, CA 91101

I am a Marriage and Family therapist in private practice. I work with individuals, couples, and families in short and long-term psychotherapy. We work together to explore memories of the relational dynamics of the individual’s family, the feelings those dynamics created for the individual as a child, and how the individual now relates to those feelings and memories.
