Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy. I am proud to provide these services in Rancho Cucamonga and Riverside CA. Born and raised in Rancho Cucamonga, I am honored to give back to the community that is so near and dear to my heart. As a married woman, and a working mother and step-mother, I have learned to balance parenthood and a fulfilling career. I have spent much of my career working with foster youth and their families, treating childhood abuse and neglect, in both the public and non-public sector. Among my areas of expertise are victims of abuse and neglect, couples counseling, parenting, depression, anxiety, ADHD, delinquency, and substance abuse. I am an Incredible Years Parenting Group Facilitator, a Department of Transportation qualified Substance Abuse Professional, and trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. In addition to being a prominent relationship therapist, I also work with a variety of EAP insurance beneficiaries providing solution-focused, brief therapy, to help clients manage stress, and balance work and home life. I have enjoyed providing Clinical Supervision to Marriage and Family Therapist Trainees and Interns since 2010. I am a compassionate, direct and interactive therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address their treatment goals. I offer a highly personalized approach, tailored to each client's specific and unique needs. I work with each individual to help them identify and build upon their strengths. I believe that the person is not the problem, the problem is the problem. I collaborate with my client's and help them step away from problem saturated and oppressive stories, to discovering and/or creating new untold stories which include prefered accounts of their lives, hopes, values, dreams and relationships.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
