Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Therapy is a beginning place, not an ending place. So often people talk in terms of “ending up” in therapy over a certain issue, but I see it as a place to begin the journey of becoming who they want and are meant to be. I want to support my clients in accessing their own voice, strength, and abilities, while providing them with the tools they need to take a stand against the problem and live their life the way they choose, rather than the problem choosing for them. This leads my clients to a life of joy and authenticity. I do this through the use of Narrative therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, somatic work, and art and play therapy. I utilize a great deal of creativity in my work with, children, families, parents, and adults.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
