Personal Statement:
Stephen is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Sex Therapist with a Private Practice in Monterey. He specializes in working with sexual abuse issues, both the victim survivors and the perpetrators, and with gender issues. He runs men's groups at the Monterey Rape Crisis Center for adult male survivors of sexual abuse and has co-lead groups at the Salinas Women's Crisis Center for couples in which one or both partners have been sexually abused. Stephen has been nationally recognized by the National Organization On Male Sexual Abuse for co-leading the first national retreat for men who have been sexually abused. He frequently lectures in the public on a variety of abuse issues and his writings and interviews have appeared in such places as Men's Health Magazine, KSBW T.V. and KSGO Radio. He writes for The Healing Woman Foundation, Treating Abuse Today Journal and the Survivors of Educator Sexual Abuse and Misconduct Emerge Organization. Stephen is the President - Elect of the Monterey County Chapter of the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists, a active member of the American Association of Sex Educators , Counselors and Therapists and The California Coalition On Sexual Offending. Finally, he has taught the Sex Therapy courses at Chapman University and Undergraduate Sexuality courses at Hartnell College for many years. Finally, he is the current President of the Monterey County Chapter of CAMFT - year 2002.
