Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Much of the focus of my work is with children with behavioral problems and adults and children who have been traumatized. With adolescents and children I often work with those who have ADHD, anxiety, Asperger's, bi-polar, depression, defiance, substance abuse, and all kinds of family or blended family issues. I work with the adolescent or child and the family to address resolving the impact at school, within the family and their peer relationships and development. Many of the adults I work with wish to address depression and anxiety, the effects of trauma both within the family and at the hands of others, stages of life and personal values problems, relationship and family tensions, and self-defeating and poor communication patterns. Each of us is bigger than our problems. Empowering, healing, growth and transformation are some of the most important qualities I seek to nurture in the collaborative therapy I provide. These are important for a child and for the adult. Albert Schweitzer wrote, "Each patient carries his own doctor inside him.... We are at our best when we give the doctor who resides within each patient a chance to go to work." My practice is in a comfortable secure suite located in a medical offices building.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
