Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I value effective and solution-focused therapy for couples, families and individuals across the lifespan. As a cognitive behavioral therapist, I help clients make important changes to their thinking and behavior patterns to feel more content and fulfilled in their lives. It is a priority in my work to understand how your background, identity, and relationships influence who you are and what brings you into my office. My goal is to help you develop insight and useful strategies to improve your life and relationships. My specialty areas involve Gottman Couples interventions and I have completed two levels of Gottman training. I utilize evidence-based treatment, including cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused behavioral therapy, for depression, anxiety, eating and body image concerns, substance abuse, trauma, bereavement, relationship challenges and general life stress. I strive to create a collaborative and supportive relationship in therapy. In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, hiking, yoga, and meditation.

Phillip Copitch, PhD

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Redding, CA 96001

Approximately half of Dr. Copitch's practice involves children and families. The other half is devoted to individual therapy. And, as Dr. Copitch often jokes, "the third half of my work is devoted to school consultations, business consultations, and corporate trainings."
