Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
As a therapist, I consider it an honor to provide a compassionate, safe and supportive environment on your journey toward wellness. If we have been wounded in relationship or have unresolved trauma from the past, fear can prevent us from seeking and maintaining nurturing and safe connections with self and others. Neuroscience is showing us what we have known instinctually forever; that it is through nurturing relationships that healing and human growth occurs. If we have been wounded in relationship or have unresolved trauma from the past, our fear can prevent us from seeking and maintaining nurturing and safe connections with self and others. My approach is eclectic and needs-based, drawing primarily from family systems, psychodynamic and attachment theory, and utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, play and sand tray therapy. I have worked for over seven years in Northern California concentrating on trauma and domestic violence, depression, anxiety, addictions, relationship difficulties, parenting issues, blended families, grief, life transitions, attachment issues and personality. I work with individuals, children, couples and groups.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
