Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
There are a variety of reasons that people enter into therapy. For some it’s a desire to explore experiences that may be affecting their ability to reach their goals, for others it may be as simple as needing a “tune up” on coping or communication skills. With current research supporting the mind-body connection, I believe that improving our mental health is important to maintaining and improving our physical wellness. Our brain is another organ in our body and like any other part of our body; we need to care for it to ensure overall health and wellness. My clinical focus is the treatment of trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), relationship difficulties, and mood disorders, including depression and anxiety. I employ mindfulness techniques as well as other research-supported approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR and Attachment-Based science to help you manage stress, depression, relationship concerns, self-esteem and life transitions. Having worked with clients from diverse religious, sexual orientations, racial/ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, I have learned the importance of recognizing that each individual regardless of their history and background are capable of embracing change with support, respect and acceptance. My strength as a Therapist begins with my skill in developing a relationship with you that is a respectful and supportive partnership focused on your goals. Supporting your self-reliance is important in assisting you with developing adaptive coping mechanisms and successful strategies for managing your mental wellness. My therapeutic background includes working with children, adolescents, adults and couples, including individuals with special needs. If you would like more information about what I can provide, please contact me for a free, no obligation phone consultation.
