Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Tamar Springer, LCSW, is a licensed psychotherapist and certified sex therapist with 16 years of experience in helping individuals, couples and families explore their relationships through counseling and education. Her approach is both psychodynamic and behavioral, which means participants talk some about the past, but more about the present and the future. Insights from exploration of family dynamics and past experiences are used to illuminate behavior and motivation, which enables effective change to occur through solution-focused, behavioral techniques.

Tamar focuses on building skills for successful relationships through effective communication and conflict resolution; through examination of ineffective but familiar behaviors and patterns of relating; and by encouraging each individual to take responsibility for his or her role in the situation that is causing pain or conflict. Tamar’s areas of focus include pre-marital and relationship counseling, sexuality concerns, parent coaching, post-partum depression, and counseling and support for all aspects of divorce.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
