Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a mechanism for change. I help individuals address unresolved pain that often results from unsatisfying early attachments and repeats in other relationships. I believe that individuals make the best choices given their perceived options and that one of my tasks is to help my clients identify obstacles that are keeping them from achieving their goals and hopes and help them to see that there are other options.

I am compassionate toward and respectful of my clients; I have an interactive style that incorporates insight, empathy and humor. I work with adolescents, individuals, and couples who are experiencing problems related but not limited to depression, self-esteem, relationships, sexual orientation, aging, eating, grief, and childhood abuse.

During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
