Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My background, experience and training, has been with children and families. First and foremost a child advocate I have, after years of working with teens, become an adolescent crisis counselor. I enjoy working with individuals, male and female alike. Couple work is a powerful way to address issues and it is an honor to see the dynamics in a relationship. Pragmatic and solution focused I work within the context of what is happening now. Cognitive behavioral therapy works, our belief system is a powerful determinate of what we think, feel and put into action. Strength based, my goal is to empower individuals to find their voice and get needs met in a way that works. Compassionately I guide toward a greater understanding of self and impact on others.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
