Professional Personal Statement I balance the quest for self-improvement with an appreciation for the transformational power of accepting things exactly as they are. I recognize that there is something inherently purposeful and meaningful in what already is. If we are always in an improvement mode, we miss the mystery and magnificence of now.

As a therapist, I guide and support you to meet your experiences instead of hiding from them. I can create a safe space for you to reconnect to your disowned aspects because I have made friends with my own. Indeed, they have become my allies.

When we feel our feelings instead of avoiding them, they are transmuted by our very willingness to meet and embrace them. When we experience our experience instead of trying to create a better one, it becomes the very experience we seek.

We sit together. You share what emerges, some of it awkward and uncomfortable. As distrust dissolves, you realize it is safe and empowering to share all of who you are. By allowing and welcoming what is difficult, you illuminate what is divine.
It is not that simple. And it is.
