Professional Personal Statement
Toni Dunning is a Marriage and Family Therapist who cares deeply about people and relationship injuries. She believes people were created for relationship and carry deeply an innate desire to be deeply known, loved, and accepted by others--and with that a desire to know others as well. Consequently, in her practice, she maintains a stance of unconditional positive regard while emotionally holding, containing, and carrying each client during each unique process of transformation. Toni has completed an Externship in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy at TRI EFT Alliant under the direction of Drs. Scott Woolley and Lisa Palmer-Olsen, both Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists. Additionally she has completed EMDR training under the direction of Dr. Linda Vanderlaan, Licensed Psychologist and EMDR Approved Consultant. In addition Toni attended the 2011 Summer Institute at the Center for Play Therapy at the University of North Texas in Denton. She has a Master of Arts degree from Hope International University in Fullerton, California. Toni enjoys working with individuals, couples, adolescents and children and families. She is particularly interested in working with blended families to develop meaningful relationships. Toni works well with people interested and engaged in healing from trauma, abuse, anxiety, anger, and depression. She has a heart for people who have been victimized and helps clients develop new confidence and tools necessary to survive and live meaningful, productive lives.
