Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Hello, my name is Thomas Dickey. I’ve been in private practice since 1996 seeing adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Prior to 1996 I worked at a non-profit agency for 5 years that served the youth in the community and their families. Over the years it has been my privilege to work with people who bring their hearts, minds, and a touch of courage to therapy for a number of reasons, but, fundamentally, it comes down to wanting to be understood, respected, valued, and to feel good about themselves. Who doesn’t want that in their lives?

Patricia Ravitz, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
