Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I believe it’s most critical that my client’s feel understood, have a sense of hope and that they are making progress in counseling. I have 20 years of experience working with individuals, families, and couples. I work with children, adolescents, adults, Veterans, and Military Families. I treat trauma (PTSD, children or adults who have a history of physical, sexual abuse and neglect), depression, bipolar, and anxiety disorders (including Panic Attacks), addiction or other compulsive behaviors, ADHD, learning disabilities, and chronic health problems. I also work with those with high functioning autism. As a trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) Therapist, I have been seeing relatively good progress with my clients who choose this treatment approach (for trauma, mood and anxiety disorders as well as addiction). At the same time I continue treating clients other treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic, Attachment-Based, and Family Therapy.

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
