Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Tim Long LMFT completed both his Master of Divinity and Master of Counseling at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. Tim operates a private practice in Beverly Hills, CA. There he helps couples and individual adults and teenagers with a wide variety of struggles, including but not limited to marriage recovery after infidelity, men's sexual struggles, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and adult recovery from childhood neglect and abuse. Tim's counseling style is intensive, affect-focused, and attachment-focused. Tim's three greatest professional passions are integrating faith with psychotherapeutic technique, equipping clergy and religious leaders to minister to the emotionally hurting in their communities, and training young therapists in becoming excellent and Christ-glorifying practitioners.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
