Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Do you find yourself wanting to have more control over your emotions? Therapy can be a beneficial tool whether you are currently struggling with a life event or having family conflict, are wanting to better yourself for your future, or are wanting to deal with your past. I will use a collaborative approach and will work with you to develop goals based on what you are seeking from therapy. My genuine approach will help you and your child to feel safe and comfortable during sessions, allowing us to take an honest look at what may be holding you back. My specialty is with children who have experienced trauma, struggle in regulating emotions, are dealing with divorce/separation, are oppositional, or have been adopted or placed in foster care. I use play therapy techniques when appropriate to help children work thru past traumas so that they can begin to heal. When working with children, I involve the guardians in treatment so that change can happen within the entire family system, working to create lasting effects that will continue after therapy. I also enjoy helping adults and couples deal with anxiety, depression, divorce, domestic violence, and parenting struggles.
