Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Let me introduce myself to you, my name is Vickie Parker, I am 63 years old and most of the time, I really enjoy life. I have been married (for the second time around) for 31 years and I love my family very much. I have a son (and daughter-in-law), a stepdaughter (and stepson-in-law), and a stepson; all grown up, they have given me ten beautiful grandchildren. I love the outdoors and enjoy running, swimming, and biking with my husband. I was raised in a Christian home and my relationship with God is very much a part of my life. Being a Christian does not mean that I have not struggled with relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and feelings of loneliness and helplessness. Therapy made a big difference in my life and I have a passion to pass on what I have learned, through my own therapy and education, to others who want it. My husband and I have had several years of couples therapy when things were really tough and I wanted to leave. Before I became a therapist, I was a dental hygienist and then went back to school and got my masters in counseling. I have jumped through all the hoops and now have my license in Marriage and Family Therapy. I love what I do and it is encouraging when I see lives change. I allow myself to be open and inspired by the world around me but I will always be the first to say that life is not easy. Life is a challenging adventure filled with difficult situations, excitement, relationships, joy, and lots of hard work. I live to inspire and encourage. I welcome the opportunity to come along side of anyone who wants to make changes in their life and do the work. I meet with couples, families, and individuals. If you would like to talk with me, please schedule an online appointment with me at It may change your life. Vickie Parker, LMFT?California License #MFC 52097

During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone.
