Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I believe the relationship between the client and therapist is a unique and healing one. Therapy is a place for you to be seen and heard, perhaps in a way you haven't been before in your life. It's an hour a week for you to express and examine your most private thoughts and feelings and to explore the dynamics of your life that may no longer be working for you. My theoretical orientation is eclectic, but I rely heavily on a strength-based model, which means I will be curious about your goals and aspirations and support you in your journey towards achieving them.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
