Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Allow connection. Whatever's going on, we can discover what's real. Waking every day with curiosity... what's in the way? Perhaps it's all confusing or things just can't keep going as they are. When anxiety and fears are too much, connection opens surprising possibilities and invites a "you" that's real. I foster relationships of safety and trust, experiencing meaning, and feeling alive. Developing self intimacy and investing in a life long partner are difficult. Together we can visualize, look for ease, and find new ways to feel honest and at ease, anywhere. My specializations are adults maltreated as children, traumatic childhood bonding, and stockholm syndrome. I help build awareness from being emotionally threatened / intimidated, ignored / abandoned, and rejected / humiliated. Let go of conflicting anger and resentment, indifference to separation, guilt, blaming, or shame from supporting an abuser. Although I call it as I see it, I'm also accepting, intimate, and supportive. With my experience working in psychiatric hospitals, I use mindfulness to guide through experiential trauma release and cultivate transformation. Together we can relieve anxiety /stress, insomnia / nightmares, suicidal thoughts, panic, sadness / depression / grief, low self esteem.

Services
Throughout my life, I’ve found allowing emotional connection, even in extreme fearful traumas, has humbly afforded me an amazing peaceful life. It is my continual goal to allow any immediate experience to create something new. In staying curious, I've had the rich honor of discerning the extensive depth of sadness, loss, and, joys we all face. In my prior roles, I've supported children and adults, volunteering since 1998 in non-therapeutic services, alongside a 20+ year world wide design career. In private practice, I guide through anxiety, insomnia, suicidal thoughts, sadness / grief, self-esteem, vulnerability, stress, crisis, outdated strategies, and personal growth. Specific challenges include traumas of medical, developmental, and attachment. My theoretical orientation includes Hakomi / Somatic, Integral, Gestalt, Attachment, Mindfulness, Brief Depth, Strength Based, and Humanistic …all an integrative mix suggesting a real, in-person, experience heals. In clinical settings, I provide functional assessments, case management advocacy, coping skills education, and crisis relapse. I have supported clients having diagnosis of bipolar, borderline, narcissism, schizophrenia, schizoaffective, and PTSD. Group skills teachings have included DBT, CBT, Seeking Safety Trauma, coping skills and discharge planning. I have taught self nurturence with maintenance plans for positive outcomes. Even in extreme cases, there is always hope.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
