Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Effective therapy does not simply analyze your problems, it helps you make permanent changes so that you can live the life you want. Psychotherapy and Marriage Counseling are powerful tools for change if you are seeking greater well-being and contentment, struggling with unhealthy relationship patterns, or feeling overwhelmed, alone, or in emotional pain. I work in a supportive manner and tailor counseling to your unique needs, background, and preferences. I offer a comprehensive, effective approach to help you let go of emotional suffering and overcome what is holding you back. I also work with you to improve your key relationships. This may include relationships with your partner, family, or other significant people. It also includes your relationship with yourself. My 24 years' experience as a psychotherapist has shown that when people begin to improve how they treat and view themselves, even in small ways, the benefits are enormous. Together, we can do that. Areas of special expertise include: 1) Creating more nurturing intimate relationships; 2) Overcoming self-defeating patterns; 3) Healing from the legacy of a narcissistic family; 4) Enhancing creativity and well-being; 5) Coping with difficult people; 6) Negotiating transitions and setbacks in relationships, career, finances, health, or emotional life.
