Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I help people who are coping with challenges and changes, including divorce and mid-life career shifts, to make healthy transitions. As a Marriage and Family Therapist and Attorney/Mediator trained in Family Law, I am able to provide exceptional expertise to divorcing spouses, children and their newly configured families. First, I focus on helping my clients to cope with the anxiety, depression, guilt and grief that may accompany this change. Then I help them as they reconfigure their families and lives, embracing the lessons they have learned, so that they can move forward and fully enjoy their "new" lives. The experience of raising two children, who are now adults, helps me to teach Parenting Classes with credibility. I work well with couples who are trying to decide if they want to stay together, as well as with couples who have decided to separate and want to do so in the healthiest way possible.

I have helped hundreds of couples recognize the hidden obstacles that cause pain in their relationship and learn the skills needed to deepen the quality of their relationship as well as resolve conflict. For over twenty five years I have been working with heterosexual and gay couples. I do not believe in a one -size- fits- all approach to therapy.
