Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Are you struggling with relationship issues and cannot solve them on your own? Have you and your partner grown apart over the years? Are your children entering adolescence with all the trials and tribulations it brings? Are you stressed and anxious about “life’s small staff” and are not clear on how to deal with these unpleasant emotions? Have you suffered a loss, or divorce and are having difficulty coming to terms with it? Has depression robbed you of the ability to be focused, motivated and enjoy life’s simple pleasures? Are you a recent immigrant struggling with adjusting to the new norms and values of your adopted country? If any of these questions ring true for you, then welcome and congratulations on making the first step to finding a lasting solution. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (License #MFC 42860) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (License Number LPC 16), I have been working with adults, couples and children for more six years. With my background in social services, social work and academic counseling, I am very familiar with various resources available in the greater Sacramento area, which allows me to provide effective advocacy for my clients

Patricia Ravitz, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
