Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
As a couples specialist, I believe two strong “I’s” make the strongest “we”. I also believe that therapy can help you to thrive, not just survive! As problems mount in your couplehood, it can become disillusioning, frightening, confusing, and even overwhelming. Yet it IS possible to make this adversity a stepping stone toward greater intimacy. Adversity offers the opportunity to become stronger, not in SPITE of the challenge, but BECAUSE of it. Actually, resilience in the face of hard times means developing the ability to bounce FORWARD. And the good news is that it CAN be taught!

I consider it an honor to walk a healing path with troubled couples. Whether you just found out about an affair, your partner abuses drugs or you need the arguments to end, I have insight and tools to help you obtain long-lasting change. Whatever the challenge, we will use this adversity as a real opportunity.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
