Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
It is natural for all of us to occasionally feel that we are in a state of imbalance. Recognition of our distress is the first step toward healing. By identifying and addressing the negative patterns in our lives, we can bring about emotional, mental, and spiritual well being. We will work toward healing these patterns and cycles so that you may become the person you want to be, the person you really are. We will develop skills for managing and moving through difficult emotions, as well as learning more about self: awareness/reflection/compassion. These skills will help you to discover your own answers as we progress. My training includes: family systems, contemporary psychodynamics, mind/body approaches, and early developmental issues. I also draw from my own life experience and a daily practice of meditation and mindfulness.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
