Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in Santa Monica. I help individuals, couples and families with relational problems as well as anxiety, depression and other mood and behavioral disorders. My eclectic style, which is influenced by several therapeutic models, such as mindfulness techniques and humanistic principles, allows me to match my clients’ needs and meet them where they are. My training in psychology has introduced me to a wide variety of clients, with a broad range of struggles. My goal is to help my clients feel better and to improve the quality of their lives through the transformative experience of psychotherapy. Significant change requires deep personal examination, this is difficult to do on our own. Integrating a combined 19 years of yoga study, practice and teaching offers me great personal insight and a path to inner peace that I find is helpful share with my clients when appropriate. As a yoga teacher I strive to help students become mindful in both yoga practice and in their daily lives. Some of the proven benefits of mindfulness include: a reduction in anxiety and depression, enhanced health, increased self-esteem and improved sleep. My goal is to offer what I know in an accessible way. I love to teach, and I love to learn.
