Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have a variety of professional experience from which to draw on. I have spent most of my professional life working with children, teens, and families in a multitude of arenas. I believe children and teens today are facing challenges that are very different from past generations; this not only makes their lives difficult, but it impacts their families as well. My goal is to help those who need support in achieving a healthy and balanced life. I have an eclectic style, drawing upon many theories and interventions. I use what works for my clients, while adhering to the standards of my profession. I take a real-world approach to psychotherapy, set treatment goals with my clients, and help them get to where they want to be. I believe it is a psychotherapist’s duty to offer clients what they need in order to achieve health and success.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
