Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Infertility can affect how you see yourself, your sexual relations, your marital relationship, and your relationships with other people. Ultimately, the process can lead to questions concerning adoption.

Infertility can create depression, anger, anxiety, frustration, and grief. Infertility treatments that send hormone levels shooting up and down may magnify the turmoil. As most infertility treatments are performed on the woman, the unequal emotional and physical burden she bears can put significant strain on the relationship.

To trust and work with a therapist when you are at your most vulnerable takes great courage. Professional counseling can ease the emotional problems of infertility and may even improve the odds of conceiving a child. I work both interactively and collaboratively with my clients. My style is eclectic (many therapies) adjusting what is in the clients best interest and most conducive to growth.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
