Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I offer confidential psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults in a compassionate, safe and nonjudgmental environment. My approach to therapy is client-centered, collaborative, and strength-based. It is my belief that we are all unique and one approach does not fit all. I enjoy helping my clients in a broad range of issues, including anxiety, trauma, depression,co-dependency, relationship concerns, parenting, and adoption/foster-care issues. I consider it a privilege to come alongside and support individuals and families as they navigate life's many challenges and joys. As a parent myself, I have a respect and understanding of the complexities that children, adolescents, and parents face daily. When working with a wide range of clients, I incorporate modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, expressive arts, mindfulness, family systems, and attachment-based theories. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, which includes schools (elementary, high school, and college), substance treatment programs with women and children, adult and child mental health clinics, and non-profit counseling agencies.

Phillip Copitch, PhD

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Redding, CA 96001

Approximately half of Dr. Copitch's practice involves children and families. The other half is devoted to individual therapy. And, as Dr. Copitch often jokes, "the third half of my work is devoted to school consultations, business consultations, and corporate trainings."
