Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
In my private practice in Pasadena I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families who are moving through challenging transitions in their lives or are learning to live with long-standing problems. I work collaboratively with clients to define their goals and keep track of our progress together. My experience includes helping people who are bereaved after a traumatic loss, those struggling with the effects of trauma in their lives, individuals dealing with sexual orientation issues (especially women in their 40’s and beyond coming to terms with a new sexual identity), men and women managing HIV/AIDS, those struggling to clarify and express who they want to be in their lives, people looking for ways to live productively with a chronic illness, and those living with the effects of someone else’s alcohol or drug abuse, among other things.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
