Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My name is Evelyn Avivit Aizenberg and I am bilingual/bicultural (Hebrew speaking) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

I focus on psychodynamic, cognitive and humanistic perspectives. I try to match my treatment to each client’s individual needs, combining various ways of looking at internal problems, offering counseling services that are based on the client’s strengths.

In a safe and supportive environment’ clients are able to explore options, learn practical tools and emerge from and transition with new skills, insights and personal growth.

I have experienced success working with individuals and couples, on issues of acculturation and adjustment, life transitions, parenting and intergenerational conflict. Other areas of my expertise include: depression, maternal and postpartum depression, anxiety disorders and grief and loss.

I believe in the therapeutic process as a way to heal and develop a transformation for a more integrated and accepting sense of self.
