Personal Statement:
Evelyn Schmechtig-Cochran, M.A., MFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has been practicing psychotherapy for twenty years. She is the owner of Windows of Opportunity Counseling Services. Being committed to excellence, she is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists as well as the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. As a psychotherapist, Evelyn focuses on the healing of broken relationships including a person's relationship to self, and others. Often, fractured relationships manifest themselves in many ways such as in marital and family discord, school or work conflicts, depression, anxiety, disrupted eating patterns, addictions, behavioral problems, and spiritual emptiness. These are the struggles Evelyn treats. Her approach is compassionate as she strives to use newer and innovative as well as established approaches to help mend relationship fractures, activate healing, and encourage ongoing emotional, relational, personal, and professional growth . . . helping people to become all that they are. Evelyn sees individuals (ages 12 and up), families, and couples. She has specialized training in EMDR, NLP and Life Span Integration. She specializes in couple’s therapy using Emotionally Focused Therapy techniques. For more information on EFT see:
