Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Feeling good about ourselves is a universal human value. Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy is the theoretical model I practice to help individuals, couples, and families to increase their ability to fell good. Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy is a “hard core” reality based form of psycho-therapy to help people gain more accurate insight into their own personality. CBT also facilitates the client in finding practical solutions to practical problems. An array of cognitive and behavioral skills are taught to increase effectiveness in relations as well as personal well-being. Entitlement and empowerment are ideally increased. This leads to an increased level of functioning and higher self esteem. I have a specialty in Brief Therapies. This helps promote quick results. Good candidates, who are likely to change most and fastest, are individuals with high motivation to change and high dedication to assimilating concepts and skills taught in the therapy room. They are also committed to practicing the concepts and skills outside the therapy room between sessions.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
