Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Are you suffering from anxiety or depression? Maybe both? Then let me offer you a practical, proven approach to improvement. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has an empirically validated success rate of 70-75% for treatment of depression and anxiety disorders. I will show you how to achieve long-term reduction of your emotional distress by harnessing what you are already doing, but to ill effect. And while I can’t predict what your specific course of improvement may be, I can tell you that for most of the people I treat, our work tends to be time-limited and cost-effective, with improvement often reported within 5 sessions. I won’t kid you—your success requires your active participation in between-sessions work, and you may find it hard at times. But probably not as hard as continuing to feel the way you’ve been feeling!

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
