Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Greetings. I am an ex litigation attorney who gave up that warm, fuzzy pursuit to become a psychotherapist. Dealing with a high-pressure, legal career forced me to become an expert in stress reduction. I also specialize in working with depressed clients, anxious clients, trauma victims and substance abusers. I work with individuals, couples and families. I addition to my years of experience in private practice, I also spent almost three years as the Director of Adult Psychotherapy Services at a community mental health center. I've worked with clients from diverse backgrounds of all kinds. Through a combination of empathetic listening, analysis and interventions, I assist my clients in discovering and overcoming the blocks in their lives. To me, successful therapy is that which helps a person to feel vibrant and self-expressed both individually and relationally.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
