Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Jeremy is committed to helping his clients resolve issues that make them feel stuck or cause them to repeat the same difficult relationship patterns that lead to feelings of worry, loss, and sadness. Jeremy specializes in working with young professionals in their 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s as they find ways to cope with the demands of career and family responsibilities, struggle with intimacy, feeling unfulfilled, and their sense of self worth. Jeremy believes that we all may hold some unhelpful and inaccurate ideas about ourselves based on our life experiences. When these unhelpful thoughts take over, they can affect our interactions with others without us even realizing they’re there. He also believes in the resiliency of the human spirit, and that with a willingness to try something new, everyone can lead a fulfilling and satisfying life. During your initial phone consultation and first appointment, Jeremy's goal is to get to know you and begin to understand your unique needs. He will strive to work empathically and collaboratively with you in order to develop a treatment plan that is customized to meet your needs and help you achieve your goals.

About My Practice

Office Hours
Weekday evenings, limited Saturday availability
Individual Therapy Individual psychotherapy involves the exploration and resolution of difficult or painful experiences in your past that lead to unhelpful patterns of behavior in your current relationships. Jeremy's goal is to help you develop new skills to cope with negative feelings and make changes in the way you participate in significant relationships, so that you can experience more intimacy with others and satisfaction in your life. He also strives to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself in order to increase your self confidence and ability to manage the challenges you face in life. Couples Counseling Couples who participate in counseling together may be looking to prepare for marriage, resolve a specific relationship issue, increase the level of intimacy between partners, or regain trust and rebuild a relationship after an incident of infidelity. Part of couples work may involve exploration and resolution of one or both partner’s unresolved past issues, especially where disagreements between partners can trigger painful feelings associated with the past. Through clear identification of wants and needs, identifying existing areas of strength, and learning how to communicate more deeply and effectively with each other, couples can reduce their level of conflict, negativity, and blaming. Family Therapy Families with pre-teen to adolescent-aged children may benefit from including the entire family in treatment. Family conflicts often arise when children take sides and get involved in parental conflicts, or when painful family issues manifest themselves through kids’ acting out behaviors. When working with families, Jeremy will help each family member build insight into their role in the family, as well as recognize each others’ motivations for behaving the way that they do. Change targets are often associated with reinforcing appropriate boundaries between parents & children and building mutual support among family members.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Pasadena, CA 91101

I am a Marriage and Family therapist in private practice. I work with individuals, couples, and families in short and long-term psychotherapy. We work together to explore memories of the relational dynamics of the individual’s family, the feelings those dynamics created for the individual as a child, and how the individual now relates to those feelings and memories.
