Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Keiko Lane, M.A., MFT, is in private practice in Berkeley, CA and is adjunct faculty in the Somatic Psychology Department at CIIS, where she teaches and develops curriculum around issues of multicultural and queer development and psychology. Her work is influenced by feminist, queer and postmodern thought, and her therapeutic work explores the effect of social and cultural contexts on embodied experience. In her practice, she works relationally with individuals and couples on a wide variety of issues, including sexual and gender identities, multicultural identities and life transitions. Additionally, her practice helps clients facilitate their exploration of the after effects of childhood trauma, and political and cultural dislocation. She has a special interest in teaching and mentoring student therapists.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Redding, CA 96001

Approximately half of Dr. Copitch's practice involves children and families. The other half is devoted to individual therapy. And, as Dr. Copitch often jokes, "the third half of my work is devoted to school consultations, business consultations, and corporate trainings."
