Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I spend my evenings in private practice in Pasadena, where I provide psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families. I have been involved in the Los Angeles County mental health field since 1999, in acute psychiatric environments since 2004, first at Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena and since 2014 at Glendale Adventist Medical Center. This work has included treating patients with a broad spectrum of mental illnesses, from mood disorders to psychosis, active suicidality to chemical dependency and other addictive behaviors just to name a few. I spent the 5 years previous to my hospital work in community mental health, serving homeless teens in Hollywood, incarcerated adolescents at Central Juvenile Hall & underserved communities thru middle school & in-home therapy in Central & East L.A., where I counseled teens in trouble, young adults, and blended family couples. Please feel free to call me to set up to discuss setting up an appointment.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
