Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My enjoyment in providing counseling and therapy to individual adults and adolescents, couples and families is to encourage personal growth and change through support and acquiring personal insight. My belief is that we all have a desire to deepen the meaning of our lives which usually involves strengthening our relationships with the people who are close to us. Problems usually arise when those relationships are strained. These relationship difficulties sometimes result in feeling depressed, confused and alone. With support in a therapeutic setting, I have seen lives filled with hope and confidence. I love "walking alongside" with my clients and discovering together the tools and skills to improve personal contentment and gain confidence in their lives. Relationships are worth keeping but sometimes we just need help working out the bumps that happen along the way. I also consider my work as depth-focused and considering how past experiences growing up can influence the way he view our lives and interactions with others. By exploring these issues to the degree that is helpful, change comes about naturally. My experience has been working with issues such as depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, relationship conflicts, parenting, divorce and marriage counseling. Other matters that are helpful to explore are multi-cultural issues and spiritual valies. These explorations lead to self-discovery, empowerment to change and coping skills to relieve problem symptoms. I look forward to building a meaningful relationship with a supportive environment that allows you to grow through therapy.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
