Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I specialize in working with clients who seek to define, pursue and fulfill their heart’s desire in life and in relationships. This often involves healing depression, anxiety and addressing trauma and to help clients gain deeper understanding and strength with respect to painful life events and transitions. As a part of the therapeutic process, I work with clients to help clarify values and priorities so that life can become less stressful, more focused, more meaningful and more joyous. In my experience, many clients are so busy “doing” their life, they have little time and opportunity to stop and ask themselves, “is what I am doing matching what is important to me?” This hectic lifestyle not only hinders happiness and well-being, but also tends to interfere with creating and maintaining meaningful relationships. I believe that each of us can live richer, more satisfying lives when we examine how past circumstances and experiences are causing current difficulties and preventing us from more joyous living. In today’s fast paced world, I see therapy as a time to slow down and explore the source of our difficulties, while making time to consider what we value and desire to create more of in our lives; thus, therapy is a sacred time for discovery and clarity. I work to create a therapeutic environment of warmth, caring, respect and trust. Together, we will explore your emotional, intellectual and spiritual dimensions in an effort to create lasting solutions and relationships. I have deep respect for those who seek to engage in a therapeutic relationship for the purpose of healing, self-exploration, and bettering one’s life and relationships. My fondest wish is for clients to feel a lifting of burdens in order to live better, play better and love better. I also work with parents to help negotiate difficult family issues, resolve family conflicts and create a more harmonious family environment. I believe that a supportive family environment in which children and adolescents can thrive and grow is essential, especially given the complicated world in which our families live.
