Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
It’s a sign of health to seek improvement. When a person walks in my door, he or she wants change. As a licensed marriage and family therapist I consider myself a facilitator for change. I conduct brief therapy as well as longer term psychotherapy in person as well as by phone and online. My theoretical orientation is an integration of cognitive-behavioral, family of origin and family systems. My style is interactive. I utilize cognitive behavioral methods which focus on the conscious and the present moment in order to understand and change our thinking and behavior. I work with adult men and women, adolescents, and children (3 and older). I also lead workshops and group therapy in anger management, and money addiction. Additional areas of specialization include families of gamblers, money addiction and money issues (ie. New found wealth), anger management, postmenopausal sexuality, sexual issues, Viagra issues, living with loss, military families, families in transition, launching children into adulthood, public speaking.
