Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Depth Psychotherapy, Resolution of Trauma, and Consultation In those moments when you quiet your mind and the activity of your world, you have the opportunity to listen deeply to the messages of your body, your relationships, and your life. Blending depth psychotherapy with a mind-body orientation, I support you in drawing upon the inherent wisdom and healing potential of your deepest self – moving toward an integrated wholeness of body, mind, relationships, and life. Depth psychotherapy allows you to bring an expanded awareness of yourself and your life to issues of relationship, personal direction, and authentic self expression. You are guided through an inward searching process, toward greater congruity between your inner truth and its outer expression. I align with your inner guiding truth, support you in meeting and transforming what is in the way, and support your fully living, loving, and cultivating wellbeing. Areas of focus include managing anxiety, depression, stress-related conditions, PTSD, disability and chronic pain, life transition, authentic self expression, conscious relationship, sacred dimensions of intimacy, and transforming life and relational trauma. My work with couples focuses on mindful presence, attuned connection, conscious communication, and the sacred path of relationship and deep intimacy. My approach to the treatment of trauma is dedicated to helping you create safety and stability, develop internal and external resources, transform your relationship to past trauma, promote mind-body-emotion regulation and integration, and create the conditions for optimal personal and relational health and well-being. I have offered depth psychotherapy for adults and couples since 1990 and specialize in the treatment of acute, attachment, and relational trauma. I bring to my work 25 years of teaching meditation, yoga, and other somatic and relationship practices. I have studied the treatment of trauma and assisted trainings since 2007 with the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute, as well as using EMDR and other mind-body approaches. Visit my website www.dharmaspirit.com for resources, as well as information on my book, Unfinished Conversation: Healing From Suicide and Loss – A Guided Journey. Feel free to call to discuss your interests and to schedule a free half-session consultation. May you be well.
