Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I work with individuals who are feeling stuck in old patterns and know that change is needed, but are struggling with the next steps and may even feel uncertain that lasting change is possible. If this rings true for you, I can help. Through our work together you can develop greater self-awareness and hope, as well as new skills for navigating the unknown and coping with life's many challenges. You can find a sense of freedom in no longer feeling compelled to resort to old harmful patterns and become more confident in your ability to create lasting change. I specialize in working with individuals who are struggling with the impacts of substance abuse, addiction, and/or trauma. I also am experienced in working with individuals who are in a relationship with someone struggling with addiction. I can help support you in your recovery, whether it is recovery from addiction, trauma, loss, or stressful circumstances. If you have been impacted by the North Bay fires, I can help. I offer EMDR to aid in healing from the impacts of traumatic experiences.

I know it can be scary to reach out for help, especially in a culture that tells us we should be able to solve our problems on our own and, if we can’t, there is something wrong with us. Well, I’m here to challenge that culture that values independence more than interdependence, because as humans we are designed to be connected with others in relationships. And sometimes the first relationship that needs our focused attention is the one we have with ourselves in order to ‘show up’ in our relationships with others.
