Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My clients come to me feeling stuck in old patterns of thinking and behaving and often feel hopeless and alone in their struggle. They know that change is needed but are wary of letting go of what's familiar and they may feel uncertain that lasting change is possible. My clients leave with greater self-awareness and hope, equipped with new skills for navigating the unknown and coping with life's challenges. They find a sense of empowerment in developing new ways of being and a sense of freedom in no longer feeling compelled to resort to old harmful patterns. I specialize in working with individuals who are struggling with the impacts of substance abuse, addiction, and/or trauma. I also am experienced in working with individuals who are in a relationship with someone struggling with addiction. I can help support you in your recovery, whether it is recovery from addiction, trauma, loss, or a stressful situation. For individuals struggling with addiction or substance abuse, I use a harm reduction approach and I am familiar with 12-step work and philosophy. I offer EMDR to aid in healing from trauma.
