Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Each client is an individual with unique history, experience, strength, and expectations. I tailor our work together to best meet goals, wishes, and challenges. With adults and couples I help identify the patterns in relationships and use the insight to define new ways of interacting. I help couples understand how they get stuck and how to better support each other and feel heard. With children I use many techniques including art, dolls, and games, to build trust and comfort. With adolescents I connect through art, collage, music, or talk therapy. I schedule regular communications with parents and/or the family to ensure good extension of our work to the family environment. I believe secure relationships with parents and partners allow more access to feelings, opportunities and the aspirations of our true-selves. With compassion, I hope to guide you through the struggles you are encountering or the changes you’d like to make.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
